Spring on the Rappahannock River is an exciting time. For the last 10 years or so I’ve made a point of finding some extra time in my schedule to get close to nature and the wildlife.
Part 1 – The Osprey
The Osprey are usually the first sign of spring… they show up when the weather is still cold. It’s been unseasonably cold for the last couple of weeks, but I’ve seen more osprey this year than in any other past year. The Osprey’s ability to fish is simply amazing… and is one of my favorite things to capture photos of. At one point last week they were plunging into the water faster than I could capture. Once they catch a fish they usually fly it around a bit to show off and give me a few extra moments to get the shots. Enjoy some of my best spring Osprey shots.
